PANJIM: Goa United SA defeated St. Anthony’s SC 5-2 in the U-14 League organised by Goa Football Association held at Poriat ground, on Monday.
St Anthony’s opened the scoring through Hrishikesh Shirodkar in the 3rd minute of the game itself. Minutes later, Alpesh Wagari levelled the score with a goal in the 16th minute. St. Anthony’s took the lead again in the 31st minute through Hrishikesh Shirodkar but Goa United SA came back in the game with a goal from Raul Xaxa. Raul then netted three more goals in the 45th, 50th and 64th minute of the game to help his team register a 5-2 win over St. Anthony’s SC.
In another game held at Ambelim ground, Union of Chinchinim Villagers registered a 4-2 win over Canacona SA. Jovi Pereira scored a hat trick for the Chinchinim side with goals in the 55th, 58th and 67th minute of the game.
Jehorah Rodrigues scored another for UV Chinchinim while Brendon Fernandes (22nd minute) and Dickson Fernandes (69th minute) scored one each for Canacona SA.
At a game held at University ground, Football Club Goa had a comfortable 8-0 win over Penha de France. Shariz Pathan scored four goals for his side (2nd, 8th, 42nd & 64th minute), Ryan Dias scored a brace (22nd & 25th minute) while Joefon Faria (53rd) and Ashraj Khan (59th minute OG) were the scorers for the day.
In another match at Candolim ground, Candolim SC got the better of Arpora SC 1-0. The lone goal of the game came in from Aaron Rodrigues in the 61st minute.
