AGENCIES, BHOPAL: Goa University defeated LNIPE, Gwalior by 78 runs in the fourth round match of the West Zone inter University Championship organised by Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
With this win Goa University qualify for All India inter-zonal championship for the first time. LINPE won the toss and put Goa University in to bat. Sindiya Naik (23), Divya (52), Vanita Bhandari (48), Sherya Parab (31), and Sughanda Ghadi (16) set up a challenging target of 204 in 39 overs.
LINPE, Gwalior were bundled out for 123 in 35 overs as they faced a discipline bowling performance from the Goan bowler.
Ciya Phaldesai 2/17, Sindiya Naik 2/32, Vanita Bhandari 2/17, Diksha Gaude 2/25 and Sherya Parab 1/33 were the wicket takers.
Goa University will now play in West Zone league to decide the seedings.
