Goa upset Odisha

AGENCIES, KOLKATA: Goa opened their Group A league campaign stunning defending champions Odisha 1-0 in the Hero Sub Juniors National Football Championship, played at Kalyani, Kolkata, on Wednesday.
The all important goal was scored by Judah Sanches. 
Odisha started the proceedings in right earnest and virtually camped into the Goa territory and during one such move Odisha’s Mansing saw his well taken shot tipped brilliantly over the bar by a confident Goa goalkeeper Micky.
Goa shot into the lead in the 34th minute. Defender Shane cut a Odisha move on top of the Goa box and sent in a brilliant long ball for Sporting Clube de Goa striker Judah Sanches who controlled the ball and sent in a placement shot which went past the Odisha keeper to give Goa the lead.
In the second half, Goa played much better with the defence and midfield moving in tandem.  
Odisha tried their level best in the dying minutes of the match but Lakra’s effort from the penalty box was saved by the Goa keeper. Goa take on Kerala in their next match on  November 22.
