CALANGUTE: Goa Velha Sports Club beat Saligao Sporting Club 3-1 to move into the finals of St Anthony’s Cup Soccer organized by St Anthony’s Sports Club, Marna, at church ground, Siolim, Thursday.
Newton put Goa Velha ahead in the 14th minute off a good move by Peter Lopes. Peter Lopes doubled the lead in the 21st minute.
Changing over, Abhijit reduced the margin for Saligao in the 45th minute while Melroy drove the final nail into the rival coffin in the 59th minute.
Goa Velha will take on Nerul Sports Club in the finals on May 12.
