COLVALE: Goa Velha Sports Club had to wait until the tie-breaker before registering a 5-4 win over St Anthony’s Marna to advance into the next round of the 11th All-Goa Late Pio Jose Goveia memorial inter-village football tournament played at Colvale church ground, on Tuesday.
It was Marna side who took the lead in the 8th minute of play through Aldridge Fernandes only to see Suresh Thapa net the equaliser for Goa Velha SC.
Despite their attacking approach in the game, both teams failed to score the match-winner.
In the ensuing tie-breaker Goa Velha SC proved to be better shooters.
Videsh Sawant of St Anthony SC Marna received the man-of-the-match award.
