AGASSAIM: Goa Velha SC edged past Mormugao UCSC 3-2 in the GFA U-20 Second Division league match played at Agassaim ground, on Wednesday.
Mormugao UCSC opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Kashinath Rathod.
However, the joy was short-lived as Denver Vaz levelled the score in the 19th minute.
Post resumption, Goa Velha SC came back and scored in the 56th minute through Ronaldo Borges to gain the deserving lead in the match and soon doubled the lead in the 59th minute after Franky Cabral netted the third goal for Goa Velha SC.
Mormugao UCSC pulled a goal back in the 72nd minute as Sachit Naik scored past the rival keeper.
Meanwhile in the GFA Airarabia U-18 League, Churchill Brothers SC and Goan FC played out a goalless draw, at Artificial turf Fatorda, on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Dempo SC scored a narrow 1-0 win over Sporting Clube de Goa, at Ella ground.
Ariston Costa scored the solitary goal for the winners in the 15th minute.
