LOUTOLIM: Goa Velha Sports Club defeated Arlem Youth Association 5-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Loutolim Village Panchayat Cup, at Montir ground, Loutolim, on Wednesday.
In the first half, Goa Velha SC’s Vishal Pednekar’s dangerous move was foiled by a rival defender in the 20th minute.
Thereafter, Arlem Youth’s Lyne shot wide in the 21st minute.
Crossing over, Vishal broke the deadlock but Lyne equalized in the 48th minute. In the ensuing tie-breaker, Goa Velha SC proved to be better shooters.
