Goa Velha win Felicia Trophy

PANJIM, AUG 8
Goa Velha defeated Penha de France 4-3 via the tie-breaker in an exciting finals of 7-a -side football tournament for Felicia Fernandes memorial Trophy organised by Bom Jesus Nachinola at Nachinola ground on Sunday.
 In all, 16  top teams from all Goa participated.
Aldona United beat Atlectic de Parra 2-0 in the inaugural match.
In the semi-finals, Penha de Franca beat Nuvem and Goa Velha defeated Aldona United..
Earlier, Tony Fernandes, deputy sarpanch of Santa Cruz, who was the chief guest was introduced by William Fernandes, organiser of the event.
Later, Tony gave away the prizes in the presence of Vencelao Fonceca, Armand Nazareth, Menino Fernandes.
The tournament was well organised and attend by a large Sunday crowd.
Goa Velha were awarded the trophy plus Rs 20,000 while Penda de Franca had to be content with Rs 15,000 plus the trophy.
The third place was won by Aldona United who won Rs 5,000.
Emille Fernandes was the chief co-ordinator of the tournament.
