Goan Hockey Select win

In the build up to the University hockey games, Goa University took on “Goan Hockey Select” at Peddem ground, Mapusa on Thursday. Goans Hockey won.
The Goans Hockey select team was captained by Sydney Fernandes and the University led by goalkeeper Cifton Rodrigues.
After the series of successful hockey tournaments all over the State, Goans Hockey ended the year with the power-packed hockey exhibition match.
The Goan Hockey Select attack moved like a well disciplined unit and so outpowering was their trust that they notched up three goals within the first 15 minutes. Center forward Mahadev Marathe opened the account in the 4th minute. Thereafter, Macquin (2) enhanced the lead. Dattesh, Janurioand Sucurro added to the tally finish of the match 6-0. Mozem played well in the University defence.
The match was referred by chief coach Alexander Remedious and Velencio Carasco. The chief guest was Owen Lobo, a former player. The exhibition match was organized by Goans Hockey vice-president Lloyd Macedo.
