PANJIM: Goan Sailors won three out of eight YAI annual awards which were presented at the 54th Annual General Meeting of Yachting Association of India.
The awardees are Cdr Abhilash Tomy who was awarded the Admiral R H Tahiliani Trophy for the yachtsperson of the year for his success at the Golden Globe Race. Adhvait P Menon, who has been selected to represent India at the Asian Games 2023 in ILCA 4, was awarded the Admiral Nadkarni Trophy for most promising yachtsperson of the year. INSV Tarini based at INS Mandovi was awarded Admiral Ramdas Trophy for outstanding voyage of year.

The general body also appreciated the excellent performance by Adhvait Menon and Pearl Colvalcar at the recently concluded ILCA 4 class World Championship 2023. In The past Dayne Coelho and Cesar Menezes from Goa have also been honoured with the YAI Annual Awards.
