Goa’s Uzma in final round

PANJIM: Goa’s lone pugilist Uzma Khan overpowered Pooja of Delhi in the 60 kg category to march into the final while Anju Rajbhor, Alita Dias, Alina D’Souza, Sanjana Valikar and Vaishnavi lost their semi-finals bouts in the Women Boxing Competition held at Peddem Boxing Hall, Mapusa, on Wednesday.

In the 48 kg category, Anju lost to Pooja Tokas of Delhi while J. Deepthi (A.P) lost to Deepika Verma (Bhopal).  In the 51 kg, A. Punyavathi (A.P.) won against Purnima Raj (Bhopal). 54 kg: Alita lost to Nikhat Zhareen (Telangana).60 kg: Alina lost to Khushboo Barthe (Bhopal). Uzma lost to Pooja (Delhi).
64 kg: Sanjana lost to Pooja Gupta (Delhi). 69 kg: Vaishnavi lost to S. Marthama (A.P).
