CANACONA: Government High School Sadolshem humbled Gurukul High School 6-0 in the Mandovi Parivar Rolling Trophy inter-school football tournament, at Nirakar Sports Complex, Mashem, on Tuesday.
Gangaram Kharat scored a hat-trick netting two goals in the first half and one in the second half while Shubham Velip scored two goals. Rohit Naik netted the sixth goal in 47th minute. Gangaram Kharat was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
In another match, St Tereza HS edged past Government High School Gaval 3-4.
The first goal was scored by St Tereza’s Kamladdin in the 7th minute while Govt HS Gaval’s Akash equalised in the 10th minute.
Raloy of St. Tereza scored in the 18th minute before Gaval’s Saikesh Velip made it 2 – 2.
In the second half, St Tereza HS took the lead yet again in the 37th minute as Eldroy shot past the rival keepr but the joy was short lived as Govt HS Gaval bounced back yet again to draw level in the 48th minute through Saikesh Velip.
St Tereza finally netted the winner in the 56th minute through Raloy who later was named the man-of-the-match.
In the girls section St Anthony HS defeated Govt HS Gaval-Khola 2-0 goals. Aniela Barreto netted both the goals for the winners.
