MARGAO: A fine brace each from Hari Parab, Sleagan Gracias and Macklon Colaco helped Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem thump Baina Youth Club 9-0, in the South Zone GFA Second Division League encounter at Cansualim Sports Complex, on Friday.
Guardian Angel Sports Club led 5-0 at half time.
Guardian Angel dominated the game and pushed their opponents onto the back foot and broke the deadlock in the 3rd minute when Kevin Fernandes slotted past the rival goalkeeper off an assist from Desmond Fernandes.
Spurred by the early success, Guardian Angel intensified their attacks and restricted their rivals in their own half. Valzunio Ferandes doubled the lead in the 15th minute when he punished the rival goalkeeper with stiff grounder.
Slegan Gracias increased the tally to give his team a 3-0 cushion in the 24th minute off a well measured cross from Desmond Fernandes.
In the 40th minute Maclon Colaco added another off a well measured pass from Desmond Fernandes. Maclon Colaco register his brace at the stroke of lemon break.
Post resumption, Guardian Angel continued to dictate terms and enjoy the lion’s share of exchanges. Their forwards did not wait for long when Hari Parab tore the rival defence with a stiff grounder off pass from Valzuino Fernandes in the 56th minute. Hari Parab who was in thick action scored his brace in the 67th minute.
Baina were struggling throughout the match and they looked disjointed as Guardian Angel goalkeeper had a relaxed day as their opponents hardly tested the goalkeeper.
In the 72nd minute Sleagan Gracias completed his brace. Richard Fernandes then drove the last nail into rival coffin in the dying minutes of the game.
