AMBELIM: Guardian Angel Sports Club edged past Corps of Signals 1-0 in the GFA Pro League match at Ambelim ground, on Thursday.
The all important goal was scored by Yukubu Mohammed in the 2nd minute.
Guardian Angel SC had the upper hand in the opening session and the lone goal of the match came in the 2nd minute when Esteven Mendes cross hit the cross bar and Yukubu headed the ball home.
Guardain Angel SC had three scoring chances however midfielder Anthony Pereira was unlucky as his free kick missed the target narrowly.
Corps of Signals had chance midway in the opening session but L Solomon Kongsai feeble shot went straight into the safe hands of rival goalkeeper Roshan Singh.
Crossing over, Corps of Signals put up a better performance however Guardian Angel SC had a chance to double the lead but Signals goalkeeper Niyas Moon blocked Yakubu Mohammed shot.
