CARMONA: Guirdolim club downed Cuncolim Union in a narrow 2- 1 win to move into the quarter-finals of the 2nd Carmona VP Cup organised by Carmona SC at Carmona VP ground, on Wednesday.
Richard D’Sa put Guirdolim ahead in the sixth minute.
Twenty minutes later, Melwyn Carvalho doubled the lead for Guirdolim.
In the second-half, Cuncolim went all out and managed to pull a goal back in the 43rd minute through Bharat Gaonker.
Cuncolim tried hard to find an equaliser but Guirdolim defended well to advance into quarter-finals where they will meet Sao Jose de Areal.
