MAPUSA: Guirim Youth and Cultural Club relied on late strikes from Macxy Menezes and Philino Ratos to upset Bicholim Association of Football Fans (BAFF) 2-0 in the quarter-finals of GFA’s 3rd Division League (Bardez zone) at Sangolda ground, Wednesday.
After a barren first half, Macxy broke the deadlock in the 80th minute while Philino sealed a semi-finals berth in the 88th minute.
Guirim will take on Holy Cross Sports Club, Arambol in the semi-finals.
In the Ilhas Zone, Aivao YC and Paradise SC settled for a goalless draw while Ronit SC crushed Cabesa Sports & Cultural Club 4-1.
