RAIA: Rossman Cruz, Nagoa-Verna edged past Ambelim Sports Club 3-2 to book their place in the semi-finals of Gold Silver Trophy inter-village football tournament played at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Friday.
Rossman Cruz Nagoa dominated the first session and were leading 3-1 at the breather. It was Samson Fernandes who gave an early lead in the 2nd minute of the match for Ambelim SC. Rossman Cruz thereafter changed the momentum of the match and scored three goals all through Imam Guled in the 17th, 27th and 30th minute of the match.
In the second session, Ambelim SC defended well and also reduced the deficit scoring their second goal through Asfin Pinto in the 54th minute. Ambelim fought back and tried to equalise but the goal was equally defended well by Rossman Cruz.
Imam Guled of Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna was presented the man-of-the-match by Frank Fernandes, president of Navelim SC.
