PANJIM: Hand Fighters defeated Mandovi Boys by 57 runs to emerge champions in the Canacona T-20 cricket tournament, organised by Polem Cricket Club in association with Goa Cricket Association at Nirakar Cricket ground, Mashem.
Electing to bat first, Hand Fighters scored 173 for 6 in allotted 20 overs with Vaishnav Pednekar and Aman Komarpant hammering half centuries.
Lewis and Sandesh took a wicket each for Mandovi Boys. In reply, Mandovi Boys inning was dismissed by Hand Fighters bowlers in 116 runs. Sandesh Naik did most of the damage taking four wickets giving away just 15 runs for Hand Fighters.
Janardhan Bhandari, president of Canacona Sports Academy distributed the prizesto the winners and runners-up in the presence of Goa Cricket Association’s Joint Secretary Daya Pagi.
