PEDDA-VARCA: Holy Cross, Benaulim got the better of Sunny Boys 3-2 via the tie-breaker to lift the Cool Boys Pedda Varca Cup in the 1st 5-a-side All Goa U-21 open football tournament organised by Cool Boys, Pedda-Varca, at Varca, on Tuesday.
Both teams played an attacking brand of football but both teams’ strikers lacked sharpness and the full time score remained goalless.
In the tie-breaker, Holy Cross, Benaulim proved to be better shooters.
The winners were awarded Rs 10,000 while the runners-up received Rs 8,000 plus trophies.
Romeio Pereira was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up in the presence of Socorro Pereira, Seby, Tony, Ashlyn and other dignitaries.
