Holy Cross Ponda edged past Gaunem Youth Association, Gaunem 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of Ponda taluka soccer tournament, at Mardol ground, Mardol, on Saturday. Both teams were goalless at the end of regulation time. In the ensuing tie-breaker, Marusal, Peter, Rosario, Mario scored for Holy Cross while Honet, Nitish and Sudesh were on target for Gaunem.
In another quarter-final, Devkikrishna Marcel defeated BSC, Madkai 1-0. Daya scored the solitary goal.
