FATORDA: Holy Cross High School, Bastora emerged winners at the 6th Sub-Junior State Hockey Championship, defeating St Jude’s HS, Betalbatim 3-2 in the final, organized by the Goans Hockey, at Fatorda Stadium, on Friday.
Zeeshyn Sayyed of Holy Cross Bastora scored the first goal in the 10th minute but Rajasab Shaikh of St Jude’s HS equalised in the 25th minute. However, Sahil Chari and Saroj Haldankar scored the two goals for the winners before St Jude’s High School pulled one back to make it 2-3.
Colva Zilla Panchayat member Nelly Rodrigues gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up in the presence of Goans Hockey Secretary Farrel Furtado e Gracias, Goans Hockey Vice President Beny Viegas and other dignitaries.
