RAIA: Holy Family Veterans won the 1st inter-ward volleyball tournament after defeating Diocesan Priests 3-1, organised by the Boys of Colleandongor, at Colleandongor Chapel ground, on Sunday.
Holy Family Veterans won 25-18, 25-14, 20-25, 25-22 in a well contested final.
Domnic and Stanley excelled for Holy Family with powerful smashes, whereas Fr Dyrel, Fr Elvis and Fr Agnel were outstanding for the Diocesan Priests. Fr Dyrel was adjudged the best smasher. Franky D’Silva was awarded as the best lifter.
In the women’s exhibition match, Blue Arrows- Curtorim defeated Vailankanni Girls, Navelim 25- 23, 24-26, 15-13.
Aleixo Reginaldo, MLA of Curtorim constituency was the chief guest and gave the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Domnic Gauncar(ZP member), Jose Cabral(S.worker), Linda Vaz and other dignitaries.
