Holy Spirit Institute, Regina Martyrum HS in quarters

GUDI: Holy Spirit Institute, Margao and Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna entered into the quarter-finals of the Ramnath D. Volvotkar memorial inter school U-17 football tournament organised by Insight Society in association with Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Damodar English HS and Damodar HSS, at DSYA ground Gudi, on Thursday.

GUDI: Holy Spirit Institute, Margao and Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna entered into the quarter-finals of the Ramnath D. Volvotkar memorial inter school U-17 football tournament organised by Insight Society in association with Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Damodar English HS and Damodar HSS, at DSYA ground Gudi, on Thursday.
In the first match, Holy Spirit Institute defeated St Joseph’s Educational Institute, Chandor 3-1. 
Holy Spirit Institute were leading by 2-0 at the break. 
Vellington Fernandes opened the scoring for the winners in the 13th minute while Mackenzie Fernandes doubled it in the 24th minute. 
St Joseph’s Institute showed urgency in the second session and made some good moves through Davis Fernandes but missed scoring chances. Player of the match, Maven Dias inflated the lead scoring third goal for Holy Spirit Institute before Shrine Clement reduced the margin at the fag end of the match.
In another match, Regina Martyrum HS, Assolna scored a hard fought solitary goal win over Mae Dos Pobres High School, Nuvem. 
After a barren first session, Louis Crosley netted the all-important goal in the 38th minute.
