MAPUSA: Dunes SC, Mandrem, scored a solitary goal win over Assonora United FC to enter into the final of St Anthony’s SC, Marna-Siolim, at Siolim ground, on Monday
Dunes SC scored in the second half when Cypriano crossed the ball to Slivester, who headed the ball into the back of the nylon, 1-0.
The man-of-the-match was awarded to Silvester Dias of Dunes SC, which was presented by Xavier Fernandes.
In the earlier semi-final match, hosts St Anthony’s SC, Marna-Siolim, registered a fluent 3-1 win over FC Tuem to enter the final.
FC Tuem opened the scoring through Shankar Shetye, who placed the ball into the net, 1-0. Pushparaj levelled the score from a cross by Kashiram, 1-1.
Sahil then increased the lead for St Anthony’s SC with a neat placement into the net, 2-1.
In the dying minutes of the match, Pushparaj scored with a powerful header to make it, 3-1.
The man-of-the -match was awarded to Videsh Sawant of St Anthony’s SC, which was presented by Silvester Fernandes.
Dunes SC will now face St Anthony’s SC in the final on December 4.
