Kangpokpi: Violence was reported along the remote IT Road in Kangpokpi district early Tuesday, with an alleged attack and subsequent firing in and around villages inhabited by the Liangmei Naga community.
According to the Makui Village Authority, armed men allegedly attacked Pipuram Naga Village around 4 am, opened fire and later set several houses on fire. The authority said homes were damaged or destroyed, along with food grains, household belongings and other property.

The attackers allegedly later moved towards Makui Naga Village, where firing continued in the direction of the village, the authority said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
One person was reportedly injured in the incident.
The allegations could not be independently verified.
