PANJIM: International Master Ameya Audi impressed at the just concluded Satish Anna All-India Open FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament 2025 in Belgaum.
IM Ameya was joint first with 8 points out of 9 rounds. Seeded sixth, Ameya had to settle for second place on tie-break among six other players. Ameya’s notable performances being his win against IM Srijit Paul of West Bengal, IM Ravi Teja S of AP and WCM Pratitee Bordoloi of Karnataka.
IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaik of Maharashtra won the first place, while IM Ravi Teja S of Andhra Pradesh was placed third.
IM Srijit Paul of West Bengal, FM Wagh Suyog of Maharashtra, IM Nitish Belurkar of Goa and Bhosale Shriraj of Maharashtra finished fourth to seventh.
There were in all 604 players including 18 titled players from all over India.
