Israel helps Sesa to qualify

Sesa Football Academy booked their place in the second round of 2nd Division I-League football after cruising to a 7-1 win over Simla Youngs at Dr. Ambedkar stadium, New Delhi, on Monday. Sesa led 1-0 at the lemon break.
Sesa qualified after winning four matches out of five, with 12 points and still having a game in hand.
Israel Gurung scored four goals after being promoted to the centre forward position in the absence of injured Marcus Mascarenhas.
Israel opened the scoring in the 14th minute netting off a cross from the right wing. After the break Israel scored his second goal from close range for Sesa in the 52nd minute.
Four minutes later Gabriel Fernandes added his name to the Sesa scoresheet.
Gagandeep scored Sesa’s fourth goal in the 65th minute. In the 78th minute, Sesa’s Jaiganesh Goltekar found the net. In the 83rd minute Israel slotted past the rival goalkeeper.
In the dying minutes, Ugochukwu pulled one back for Simla while Israel rounded off the tally for Sesa.
Speaking to Herald, Sesa coach Clifford Chukwuma said: ”The boys made me proud. At half time I told them we needed a win to qualify and they should not be nervous. In the second half they responded well.”
