PANJIM: ITI Margao edged past ITI Cacora 1-0 to reach South zonal finals of football tournament at 12th All-Goa inter-ITI sports at Fatorda. Monzillo Pereira scored.
In the other semi-finals, ITI, Farmagudi beat ITI, Vasco 2-1 via the tie-breaker, after the teams were locked in a 1-1 draw. The Farmagudi goalkeeper Ashish Bethodkar came to his team’s rescue acrobatically saving two spot kicks.
In the second Semifinal, ITI, Margao upset a strong ITI, Cacora team by a narrow 1-0 margin.
ITI Margao will meet ITI Farmagudi tomorrow.
Tennikoit results: ITI Farmagudi beat ITI Margao 17-21, 27-17, 22-21, ITI Vasco lost to ITI Cacora 0-2, ITI Farmagudi lost to Canacona 22-20, 21-10.
In the finals, ITI Canacona beat ITI Cacora 21-17, 14-21, 21-19.
In North Zone, at Pedem, Mapusa, ITI Panjim lost to ITI Bicholim in tennikoit singles 21-11, 21-7; ITI Pernem lost to ITI Mapusa 21-13, 21-19; Montfort ITC lost to ITI Honda 3-21, 2-21. In the semi-finals ITI Bicholim lost to ITI Honda 21-19, 21-14.
ITI Mapusa beat ITI Honda to win the finals.
In tennikoit doubles (girls) ITC Montfort lost to ITI Mapusa 6-21, 8-21; ITI Panjim beat ITI Pernem 21-18, 16-21, 21-17; ITI Honda lost to ITI Bicholim 21-14, 21-
8; ITI Bicholim lost to ITI Mapusa 21-15, 21-15.
In the finals ITI Panjim lost to ITI Mapusa 8-21, 11-21.
In football, at Duler Stadium, ITI Bicholim won by tie-breaker 4-3 against ITI Mapusa. ITI Panjim beat ITI Honda 2-0.
In the North Zone finals, ITI Panjim beat ITI Bicholim 1-0
The inter-zonals will be on January 14.
