MARGAO: Jose Cookies, Camurlim edged past Lambarda Boys, Vidya Nagar 4-2 via the tie-breaker to storm into the quarter-finals of all-Goa St Anthony’s Cup football tournament organized by St Anthony’s Boys, Agali at Govt Multipurpose School ground, Borda, Thursday.
There was no score at the end of regulation period. The teams started on sedate note, as the match progressed they went on attacking mode but could not penetrate each one’s defence.
The second session continued in same vein with the teams showing urgency to score but the defenders thwarted all attempts.
In the penalty shoot-out, Oswald, Rooney, Sandeep and Mohammed were on target for Jose Cookies while Haysten and Stanley converted for Lambarda Boys.
