Katya named Ardee ambassador

PANJIM: The Ardee School announced their Ardee GIS Ambassador, Katya Coelho as part of their “The Ardee Girls in Sports (GIS)”, a first of its kind national programme across all their schools with the aim of recognizing and supporting their girl students to take up professional sports at the national and international level.
Katya is part of the Indian contingent at the 18th edition Asian Games 2018 at Jakarta, Indonesia. She will participate in the wind surfing competition at The Asian Games starting on August 23.
Katya was the first Indian girl to represent India at Youth Olympic 2014, held in China. She won the bronze medal at the 34th SIM Open Asian Windsurfing Championship in Singapore.
Since then due to lack of support, Katya couldn’t full fill her passion of represnting the country. As an ambassador of The Ardee GIS programme, Katya will be provided with financial aid and assistance for a period of 3 years to participate in international wind surfing competitions.
This will ensure that she can focus on her sport and bring laurels to the country.
During this period, she will also work in promoting professional sports for girls across schools in India.
