CHANDOR: Kumunda Boys blanked Areal Boys 3-0 to sail into the quarter-finals of the 15th All Goa Seamen football tournament, organised by Villa Marex Boys, Chandor and played at Villa Marex ground, Chandor on Tuesday.
Areal had the first shot at the rival goal when Nelson on receiving a pass from the midfield made his way into the rival territory before unleashing a powerful shot which was brilliantly saved by the rival keeper Bhogot.
At the other Kumunda Boys netted the first through Myron who slotted home Raju’s cross at the half hour mark.
Kumunda buttressed the lead through Raju in the 42nd minute.
With six minutes remaining for the final whistle, Myron scored his brace and team’s third. In the final stages of the game, Khumunda goalkeeper Bhogot made a good save to deny Areal’s Nelson.
Kumunda Boys will meet the winners of Costa Cruise and Assolda in the quarter-finals on September 14.
