Lonestar Kashmir FC humble Dempo Sports Club

Atinder gives them the lead; Farukh nets a brace for the visitors with goals in the 60th and 65th minutes

RAIA: Lonestar Kashmir Football Club punished Dempo Sports Club 3-0 in I-League Second Division match (Western Conference), at Raia panchayat ground, here, on Saturday. The visitors led 1-0 at half time.
It was simply not Dempo SC’s day after staring off the season with a 1-0 victory with a 1-0 win over PIFA FC.
The team lacked creativity in the midfield and could not control the proceeding on home turf. Moreover, the finishing was not up to the mark. 
At the other end, Lonestar Kashmir FC played confidently and used the width to stretch their opponents.
Dempo SC could have taken the lead in the 11th minute through Shallum Pires but the defender lacked fire power in his effort after receiving an accurate ball from winger Nickson Cantanha.
Lonestar Kashmir FC’ Atinder Mani was unfortunate in the 19th minute to see his venomous strike hit the upright.
Soon, Dempo SC striker Josimar Martins supplied Hayden Fernandes but rival defender Farhan Ganie made a timely clearance in 20th minute.
Lonestar Kashmir FC broke the deadlock in the next minute through Atinder Mani, who collected the ball from Gagandeep Singh and shot past Dempo SC goalkeeper Tyson Caido.
Post resumption, Lonestar Kashmir FC pumped in two more goals as Dempo SC were found wanting. 
Lonestar Kashmir FC continued in search of the second goal as Vinay Kumar dribbled past Dempo SC centre-back Chika Wali only for Tyson to come to his teams rescue in the 50th minute.
The visitors finally extended their lead through Farukh Choudhary with a deft placement at the hour mark. 
Soon, in the 65th minute, Lonestar Kashmir FC made it as Farukh gave finishing touches to a Gagandeep Singh supply.
Lonestar Kashmir FC coach, Hilal Rasool Parray expressed happiness on his team’s performance while Dempo SC coach, Maurico Afonso felt that defensive lapses cost them dearly.
