MARGAO: Loyola High School of Margao, St Joseph’s Educational Institute of Chandor, Perpetual Succour Convent HS of Navelim, Bethany Convent of Sao Jose de Areal and Holy Spirit Institute of Margao advanced in the U-14 Salcete Taluka inter-School Subroto Mukherjee boys football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairds, on Thursday.
At Manora ground, Raia, Bethany Convent defeated Holy Rosary Convent HS of Nuvem 3-0. Mistle Cardozo scored a brace for Bethany while Vivaldy Travasso added one to team’s tally. Holy Spirit Institute also scored identical 3-0 win over Marina English HS of Nagoa Verna. Oscar Braganza scored two goals and Nathan Rodrigues added one for the winners.
At Astroturf ground, Fatorda, Loyola HS defeated OL of Snow’s HS of Raia 4-1. Ainsley Fernandes scored brace while Dishan D’sa and Rui Noronho scored a goal each for Loyola HS. Rick Fernandes reduced the margin for OL of Snow’s HS.
St Joseph’s Educational Institute also moved ahead with hard fought 2-1 win over Regina Martyrum HS of Assolna. Davis Fernandes and Reyem Menezees were the scorers for St Joseph’s EI while the lone goal of Regina Martyrum Hs was scored by Krosly Louis. Perpetual Succour Convent HS of Navelim also registered a win as they defeated Oxillium HS of Benaulim 3-1. Delmon Rebello scored a brace while Fredlon Gomes accounted one for the winners. Victor Fernandes reduced margin for Oxillium HS.
