QUEPEM: Mac Caterers defeated Cutorim Veterans 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-final of the 3rd Quepem Veterans Seamen Cup, at Borrimol Sports Complex ground, Quepem, on Monday.
Both teams were level 1-1 at the full time.
Coming into the match, Mac Caterers had the upper hand and scored in the 8th minute when Santan Furtado took control of the ball and slammed past the helpless keeper
Mac Caterers Menino missed an easy chance in the 20th minutes when he shot wide with only the keeper at his mercy.
In the second half, Curtorim Veterans changed the script of the match as they pressurised Mac Caterers and levelled terms in the 35th minute through Glorio D’Mello.
In the tie-breaker, Brian, Marcus, Andrew and Jack scored for Mac Caterers while Alex Wilson and Seby scored for Curtorim.
In another match, Nuvem Veterans beat Chinchinim Veterans 5-4 vie the tie -breaker to enter into the last eight.
Both the team were 1-1 at the end of regulation time. Abdul scored the first goal for Nuvem in the 12th minutes and Ivan equalised for Chinchinim in the 20th minute.
In the tie-breaker, Nuvem proved to be the better shooters.
