BENAULIM: Maina SC, Curtorim defeated Parish Youth Nuvem 4-2 to move into the final of the 29th Super Soccer football tournament organised by United Boys of Dando, Colva, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Thursday.
Maina SC’s goal machine Milagres Fernandes netted four goals to take his side into the final.
In the 2nd minute, Maina SC through midfielder Jovan Dias should have netted the first goal of the match but the rival defender Clyson Pereira foiled the latter’s move.
At the other end, Nuvem missed a chance at the goal as their striker Jerose Oliver’s long ranger kissed Maina SC crossbar in the 6th minute.
Minutes later Nuvem’s Jerose’s header missed the target.
Later, Maina SC’s Jessel Carneiro sent a well measured ball to Milagres Fernandes who opened the account for Maina SC in the 15th minute.
Five minutes later, Milagres Fernandes doubled the account for Maina SC in the 28th minute.
PY Nuvem pulled a goal back through Nicholas Colaco’s header in the eight minute before Milagres Fernandes made it 3-1 for Maina SC.
Jerose Oliveira made it 2-3 for PY Nuvem before Milagres Fernandes drove the final nail into PY Nuvem’s coffin making it 4-2 in favour of Maina SC.
