CANACONA: Mandovi Boys beat Star Boys to win the Shiray Chasak Canacona taluka-level tennis ball cricket tournament organised by Chandan Tuskars at Mallikarjun Temple ground, recently.
In the final, Mandovi Boys batting first scored 85 runs for the loss of 5. In reply, Star Boys fell short as they managed to score 78 for 6 in the allotted 6 overs.
Mandovi Boys won the tournament for the second time. Ex-MLA of Canacona Ramesh Tawadkar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runner-ups.
The following are the individual prizes: Best batsman of the tournament Naru Shinde (Mandovi Boys), Best bowler: Deepak Bhagat (Krishna Boys). Man-of-the –series: Santosh Satarkar (Star Boys), Man-of-the-match in the final was given to Sandesh Velip from Mandovi Boys.
