MANDOPA: Margao SC blanked Arlem Youth Association 4-0 to move into the final of the Mandopa Football Cup organised by Mandopa SC, at Mandopa ground, on Thursday.
Margao SC started the match on an attacking note, and had the first shy at the goal as Necil Pinto took control of the ball from Christopher Borges and dribbled past the rival defenders Sockey Cardozo and Daniel Gomes before he shot from close range but the crossbar denied him the glory in the 2nd minute.
Margao SC soon opened the account as Cavin Araujo’s power packed shot crashed into Arlem YA’s nets.
Later Margao SC’s Chiristopher Araujo’s bicycle kick failed to pop up into Arlem YA’s nets.
Struck by reverse, Arlem YA tried their level best to get back into the game but Eldon Colaco and Lloyd Cardozo missed chances in the 8th and 11th minutes respectively.
Margao SC went on all guns blazing and scored the second goal through Necil Pinto in the 26th minute.
In the 60th minute Melvin Furtado made it 3-0 for Margao SC before Necil Pinto completed his brace in the 65th minute to take his team into the final.
Margao SC will clash with SC Davorlim in the final on June 3.
