Margao Cricket Club (MCC) trounced Mashem Cricket Club by 151 runs to qualify for the knockout round in a GCA A Division Cricket League, at Dr Rajendra Prasad stadium, here, on Tuesday.
Batting first, MCC registered 290 for the loss of six wickets in 35 overs. Rahul Naik top scored with 86, Rajesh Ghodge 72, Suraj Naik 47 and Damodar Redkar 40 scored for MCC.
For Mashem, Milind Naik was the most successful bowler claiming 2 wickets while Shilpesh Parvatkar, Showmik Kolambkar, Sanjay Naik and Sudesh Prabhudessai snatched a wicket each.
In reply, Mashem were restricted to 139 for 8 in 35 overs. Milind Naik scored 35 while Showmik Kolambkar remained unbeaten on 24. Yogesh Chodankar and Pawan Vishwakarma claimed three wickets each.
