MAPUSA: Merces Sports Club edged out St Mathews Sports Club, Azossim 5-3 via tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of Mardol Trophy football tournament organized by United Sports Club, Mardol, at Mardol ground.
In the other quarter-finals, Nerul Sports Club thrashed Maina Sports Club 4-0 with Felix Barreto and Dyaneshwar Madgaoncar scoring two goals each. ICSC, Paroda defeated Navelim Villagers via tie breaker. The teams were locked goalless at full time.
