Minister takes up Curchorem Post office issues

CURCHOREM: Curchorem MLA and Power Minister Nilesh Cabral took cognizance of complaints regarding the staff shortage at the Curchorem Post Office  and has assured to write to the central authorities, including the Director of Postal Services, Goa Region.
He added that he would urge the authorities to appoint the required number of staff on priority basis, as residents and business establishments are facing great inconvenience due to the unavailability of proper services at the post office. 
Curchorem locals have pointed out that the lack of staff and periodic non-functioning of internet services are the two major problems. 
According to Ashwini Ankush Naik, the retired Post Master of the Curchorem Post Office, the post office is entitled to four plus one administrative staff including the postmaster, but it was functioning with only two clerks along with her. After Naik was recently relieved from duties on November 9, the post office now has only two clerks till the appointment of a new postmaster.
