PANJIM: Moira centre blanked Parra centre 2-0 in the U-13 boys inter-centre Vodafone-GFDC Rising Star Football Festival match at Moira, recently.
Moira looked strong throughout the match and played with good team work and coordination. Keshav Ratul gave early lead to Moira. Parra missed some good opportunities in the first half to score.
At the end of the first half, Moira were leading 1-0.
After resumption of play, Atmaram Jadhav doubled the lead for Moira. Parra were not able to penetrate the rival defence to score the much needed goals.
Captain of Moira Fraiser Fernandes was adjourned Player-of-the-Match.
In the U-10 category, Moira and Parra played a goalless draw. Stefan Carvalho of Parra was adjudged Player-of-the-Match.
At Socorro, U-10 boys, Socorro thrashed Marcel 7-1. For Socorro, Aston Sequeira 3, Player-of-the-Match Walden Menezes 4. For Marcel, Neel Naik 1.
In the U-13, Socorro beat Marcel 1-0. Aditya Salgaonkar scored. Player-of-the-match Orton Pinto.
At Aldona, U-10, Aldona blanked Poira 3-0. Dawayne D’Mello scored a hat-trick.
