RAIA: Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim, will face Fr Agnelo Higher Secondary School, Verna, in the Zone 3 U-19 boys football final organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, on November 22, at the Cuncolim football ground, at 9 am.
In the first semi-final, Fr Agnelo HSS registered a commanding 3-0 victory over Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim. Declan Montero opened the scoring in the first half, followed by Casvino Fernandes, giving Fr Agnelo HSS a 2-0 lead at the break. After the restart, Joel D’Silva added the third to seal their place in the final.
In the second semi-final, Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School defeated Damodar Higher Secondary School, Margao, 2-0. Mark Pinto put Mount Mary’s HSS ahead finishing a precise cross from Leo Miranda.
The lead was doubled when Amancio Fernandes delivered a perfect cross, met by a powerful header by Leo Miranda to make it 2-0 at full time.
