PANJIM: Nagesh Verenker is poised for a double crown at the State Table Tennis Championship organised by Goa Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the SAG, at Club Vasco da Gama Hall premises, here, on Thursday.
Nagesh will be up against Shantesh Mapshekar in Sub Juniors boys singles final while in the Junior Boys singles final, Nagesh will face the challenge of in-form player Anshuman Agarwal.
In the Sub Junior boys semi-finals, Nagesh demolished Jayz Gomes 3-0 (11-4, 11-3, 11-4) while Shantesh Mapshekar outplayed Anshuman Agarwal 3-1 (11-9, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5).
In Junior boys, Nagesh Verenker beat Vedant Kulkarni 3-0 (11-4, 11-6, 11-6) while Anshuman Agarwal defeated Shantesh Mapshekar 3-0 (11-6, 12-10, 11-9).
