UGEM-SANGUEM: Navelim SC got the better of Arlem Youth Association Raia 5-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the 17th Uguem Rising Club at Uguem Rising Club ground, Sanguem on Thursday.
The match was balanced in the opening minutes of the game as the teams took time to settle.
Navelim scored through Travis Souza’s placement shot in the 25th minute but the joy was short-lived as Allen Fernandes equalised for Arlem in the 35th minute.
Both the teams tried their best to get the match winner but their strikers failed to take their chances. The full time score read 1-1.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Navelim SC netted through Travis Souza, Aulon Gomes, Danston Fernandes and Mezio Piexito and for Arlem Youth Association Sockey Cardozo and Liston Cardozo managed to convert from the spot.
Navelim SC will meet the winners of Dicarpale SC and Fr Agnel YC Paroda in the semi-final on October 28.
