RAIA: Navelim SC got the better of PAX of Nagoa, Verna 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi- final of the 47th All Goa Custodio Memorial football tournament organised by Raia Sporting Club, at Raia panchayat ground, on Saturday.
In the second minute itself, PAX should have netted the first goal for the match through striker Myron Fernandes’ ground shot but a timely block by Navelim defender Covan Lawrence.
At the other hand, the best chance for Navelim fell to striker Clinton Niasso but the latter’s move was thwarted by PAX defender Vijal Rego in the 29th minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker Navelim SC netted through Climax Lawrence, Suraj Naik, Jaison Martins and Sidney Colaco while Hilton Fernandes, Stephen Satarkar and Vijal Rego scored for PAX of Nagoa.
