Navelim Sporting in finals

Navelim Sporting prevailed over Candolim Sports Club 6-5 via the tie-breaker after both the teams were involved in a goalless draw to move into the finals of Calangute Panchayat Cup soccer organised by Calangute Association at Poriat ground, Calangute on Wednesday.
The teams played an entertaining soccer but failed to score at full time.
Francisco Rebello could have put Candolim ahead in the first half but he shot wide. Navelim’s Mariano Mascarenhas also had an opportunity but failed.
Richard D’Costa, Jason Pereira, Stanford Cardozo, Milton Gomes, Mariano Mascarenhas and Joao Pereira scored for Navelim while Shankar Palienkar, Manuel Crasto, Jolith Simoes, Jose Lopes and Cliff Furtado were on target for Candolim.
Navelim Sporting will take on United Club of Nerul in the finals on April 18.
