Navelim Sporting in quarters

Navelim Sporting Club defeated Raia Sporting Club 3-2 to sail into the quarter-final of Muriel Faleiro memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Parish Youth of Nuvem at church ground, Nuvem on Thursday. The teams were level 1-1at half time.
After much probing, Navelim Sporting Club went into the lead in the 25th minute when Milton Gomes bulged the net.
Stung by the setback, Raia Sporting Club tried hard to regain their composure and they continued to pile on the pressure making several forays into the rival territory. They were rewarded in the 30th minute when Mauricio D’Souza neutralized the lead with a stiff shot.
The second half saw saw Raia Sporting Club finding success when striker Mauricio D;Souza slotted past the rival goalkeeper after he picked up a ball from his own half.
Despite being in arrears, Navelim Sporting Club did not give up and Joston put his team on level terms.
With the match heading for tie-breaker, Navelim Sporting Club made a last ditch effort and striker Milton Marques struck the match-winner.
