MARGAO: Navelim Sporting Club thumped St Anthony Sports Club, Marna-Siolim 4-1 to move into the semi-finals of the 34th Gold Silver Rolling Trophy Football tournament organized by Navelim Sporting Club, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Wednesday. They led 2-1 at half time.
Navelim Sporting attacked in the eighth minute through Anil Shilvolkar but the latter was timely tackled by rival defender Anil.
Navelim Sporting surged ahead through Eldrich Coelho in the 11th minute with a deft placement while Alvito Colaco doubled the lead in the 28th minute with a powerful grounder.
At the other end, St Anthony SC pulled a goal back in the 34th minute as a Navelim SC defender brought down Claudius Rodrigues. Off the resultant spot-kick, Claudious converted with ease.
Crossing over, Navelim SC dominated and scored two goals through the boots of Anil Shivolkar in the 65th minute and 67th minutes.
