RAIA: Navelim Villagers Union beat hosts Wilred Leisure SC, Curtorim, by solitary goal to enter the semi-finals of 13th Wilred Leisure football tournament organised by Wilred Leisure SC, Curtorim, at DYSA ground, Curtorim, on Saturday.
The match started on slow pace and both teams had equal chance in first quarter of the match but Navelim created chances and scored the first goal in 18th minute of the game through Prestly Gomes with a placement shot. Just before half time, Milagres Fernandes of Wilred Leisure had chance to equalise but failed to hit the target.

Earlier, Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, edged past Guirdolim Club 6-5 via a tie-breaker to enter the semi-sfinal.
It was a well contested quarter-final, between two South Goa title aspirants playing attacking soccer in front of large crowd. Guirdolim Club dominated the first session of play and scored two goals through Safik shaik and sidon Peixito in the 25th and 30th minute.
Changing over, Don Bosco Oratory change their plans and made quick passes and control the game. In the 40th minute, Francisco Andrade scored from the box with powerful volley which crashed into the Guirdolim Club net. Francisco Andrade equalised for Don Bosco Oratory due to the rival goalkeeper’s error in the last quarter of the match and made way for penalty shoot out to decide the winners.
In resultant tie-breaker, Don Bosco Oratory scored through Roque Borges, Fr Mario Noronha, Sweden Rebello and Velton D’Souza. For Guirdolim Club, Swaraj D’Costa, Joaquim Carvalho and Mario Fernandes found the net.
