CUNCOLIM: Navelim Villagers Union downed Sao Jose de Areal 3-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Rising Cup football tournament, organised by Rising Club of Sanvorcotto Cuncolim in association of Santa Cruz Society of Poitmoddo, at Cuncolim ground, on Monday.
Clinton Niasso of Navelim opened the score-line in the first minute itself. Thirteen minutes later, Meliston Dias netted the second goal for Navelim. It was again Clinton Niasso who netted his brace to make it 3-0 for Navelim in the 20th minute.
Later, in the second half, Bersel Viegas and Stalen Oliveira missed chances to score for Sao Jose de Areal in the 50th and 61st minutes respectively.
